Q: Display all photos not in albums?

I have 40,000 photos in Photos.  From the "all photos "area I have clicked and sent to albums many of these photos.

is there anyway to display the pictures that have not yet been assigned to an album? That way I can either delete them or assigned to an album. That way when I go to "all photos" I will only have those photos which I haven't dealt with yet.

thanks

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Go to the Photos File menu and click New Smart Album. Set the "Match the following condition" to Album -- is not -- Any

To see all photos not in  an album make a new smart album (file menu ==> new smart album) with the criteria album is not any - this smart album will show all photos not in any album and when you put a photo into an album it will be removed from the smart album - and of course if you delete the photo (right click and delete 1 photo) then it will be gone from the library

That way when I go to "all photos" I will only have those photos which I haven't dealt with yet.

Of course All Photos will always contain "all Photos" - you can not change that
