    This solution worked (iMazing) on iOS 9.2 following all the aforementioned issues.

    I am finally using iOS 9.2 after restoring my edited encrypted backup.

    Is the link to downgrade to iOS 8 still working?

    I am another iPhone 6 Plus user that got stuck on the white screen with the black Apple logo during the upgrade. The Apple CSR that I contacted had me wipe everything and do a clean install to get the phone working again since we tried to do the upgrade and restore process 5 times and it still didn't work. Lost all my info but at least got the phone working again running on iOS 9. It was a nightmare. The worst upgrade experience ever! Totally unlike Apple as I remembered.  The horrible thing is that after a few weeks of usage, some app was acting a little weird again and I was forced to restart the phone. After turning it back on, the "Connect to iTunes" screen came out. I had to repeat the install/restore process with the phone connected to iTunes on my Mac multiple times AGAIN until the phone started up instead of being stuck on the white screen with the black apple. This nightmare happened 5 times already and it happened again today! How can I rely on this for business or for anything for that matter? It had wasted so many hours of my time getting it back to operational each time. When I tried to contact the Apple CRS that helped me the first time, she became non-responsive. I brought my phone in New York and I am currently working abroad so bringing it into the Genius bar isn't an option. Someone please help.

    Hi, before you do a restore from your iTunes backup, you might like to modify your backup using iMazing. We know this works when you update from iOS7/8 to iOS9, but presumably the same would apply from iOS9 to iOS9.

    Try the followings before you decide to give up:

    1. Force restart the iPhone 5s;
    2. Press and hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons, then the Volume Up and Power buttons, see the video.
    3. Update or restore the iPhone in recovery mode;
    4. Restore iPhone in DFU mode;
    5. Fix iOS to normal with an iOS system recovery software.

    If you get an error code when restoring the iPhone with iTunes, find the exact issues in this article.

    To find more details about the 5 ways above, check this link.

    So I thought I was having this problem... my phone has been "full loading bar" for about an hour.  Suddenly it went to "empty loading bar" and is now creeping back up.  I'm going to leave it overnight and see what happens.

    After another 10 minutes, it restarted and prompted me to set up some things for iOS 9.  I guess I just had to be patient.
