After updating to iOS 9, Airplay is working properly again with 3rd party player Pioneer N-50 (did not do so under 8.4.1) but no meta data is shown (artwork, artist, title, runtime etc.). The device only plays music and displays a message, that it is connected.
This effect is independent from the app that is used (Music, Radio.de, Onkyo HF Player etc.) . So there seems to be a general bug in airplay protocol.

Same on Denon Ceol N8. Hope it will be fixed.
I also read about several users of Airplay certified Denon AV-Receivers with the same problem.
Can anyone test this under 9.1 beta please?

I have had a lot of trouble with Airplay on my Denon AVR 1912; updating to iOS9.0.1 on iPhone 4s might have improved the connectivity a little bit, but the GUI now only displays 00:00 instead of the artist and song title
I’ve tried to update the firmware on the AV receiver (but it keeps dropping the connection so havent had success yet) - perhaps fzer0 you could try this on your Denon and see?
I've checked and there is no update available for my device. Just send bug report to Apple.
Any news on this issue on iOS 9.1? I do not have access to my Denon device right now so cannot check it.
Same problem under iOS 9.1 - I think they changed the API.
So it seems, that it doesn't really matter if you buy a MFI Product in the long term - Apple just doesn't care for our investments.
I would have expected any change in AirPlay protocol to be downward compatible.😠
Just got reply from Denon. Hope it will be fixed by iOS update...
"It appears that there have been changes with Airplay with iOS9 from Apple's side. As a 3rd party manufacturer who has implemented Airplay in their products we have done so according to the specifications laid out by Apple and this has ultimately been certified by them.
Our engineers have already reported these issues to Apple via their bug report platform and we need to await a fix/response from Apple's side. This will most likely be a fix included in with an iOS update."

I guess Apple will not do any further changes to the Airplay protocol.
Now, since IOS 9.2, for about 10 percent of the music files metadata is shown again.
90 percent of the files cause reboot of my MFI-certified media player!!!
Sorry Apple, there seems to be no quality inspection in software development. Do you only test with own equipment and not with certified 3rd party components???
For my iPhone with iOS 9.2 tags on Denon N8 are back (Spotify via Airplay ).
