It really helps if you describe what happens when you can't do something. Provide some details, please.
I am having same problem. I am searching in mail app search bar for a keyword that is clearly in an email and get no results. I tried making the same search in Spotlight search and the emails with the keyword are not appearing.
I have this problem also. The issue is obvious to anyone who tries. A search term is entered in search bar at the top of the list of messages in ones inbox. One presses return. Nothing happens. So far Apple is exhibiting its usual silence about the existence of any problem.
same issue !!!
I am having the same issues with mail and message search since the upgrade to ios 9
Same issue after doing update. ugh!
I too have the same issue with an iPhone 5. I wonder if it's an iPhone 5 specific issue?
No, it's not unique to iPhone 5 or to iPhone at all, for that matter. I have the problem on my iPad. I posted here only because this was the only thread dealing with this bug in iOS 9.
I've discovered that search does work on my Exchange work account emails but not on my Verizon emails account. Out of curiosity, what kind of email accounts is everyone using and also having search issues with? Wonder if the issue has to do with the type of server these accounts (verizon, gmail, yahoo) use.
This is a good question. After checking, the search does not work on any of my gmail accounts and not on my old @me.com account. And those are the only ones I can test.
Same problem, in email you can't search messages anymore. How can Apple release update when it's so obvious it don't work!
An update required fast!!!
It doesn't work with either of my accounts (outlook exchange and gmail). I deleted and reinstalled the gmail, but still nothing. When I search in spotlight search (by swiping right from the home screen) I can search for (among other things) mail there and I get results, but that's insufficient for searching particular mail folders or when there are a lot of search results.
It was happening to me as well: I tried searching from within the email inbox and nothing happened just sat there, no results. I just tried searching again and it now seems to work but its very slow; like it's searching in the cloud and not the local device. I don't see any settings that control the search function. Anyone find any solutions?
I'm having the same problem as well since iOS 9. Searching for keywords within mail, on iPad and iPhone, is not working at all for any email addresses I have running there. For my gmail, I can search using the gmail mail app, though as aforementioned not within the native iOS mail app. The only thing that gives me comfort is that isn't just me, though this doesn't help any of us. Thank you for posting this thread.
I'm also having this problem.
For people who use a lot of email and their phone at work this is a major problem. An update or workaround for this is required immediately.
