Has anyone had problems starting the new Apple News App?
All i'm getting is the spinning wheel on the bottom of the greeting page. I've tried restarting my phone and checked all the settings that I think would keep the App from opening.
Any help is much appreciated!

I had this problem as well on my iPhone. I went into Settings>iCloud and noticed that the News selection was already set to on (green). I turned it off and then it prompted me about deleting my News from my iPhone. I accepted that and then went back into News, at which point it worked.
My guess is that if the iCloud sync is already turned on for News and if you don't have any new content and haven't initialized it, the spinning error will occur.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings then restart your iPhone then try the News app.

Same problem on both my iPhone and iPad
I Have two iPads. One iPad has the problem exactly as described above. Other iPad is working fine with News app. Updated to iOS 9.01 this morning hoping that would fix the issue. But no.
I had the same problem until I hit the Explore icon at the bottom and then selected all the channels I wanted to show for me on the For You page. By default it opens to the For You, but the first time you use it it doesn't have anything for you since it doesn't know what you like. Hope that works. 🙂
MY News app is not working as well. 😢 I do do not have the Explore Icon you are talking about. Where do you see "Explore"?

Thank you Dave!!! That worked like a charm!!!!
I tried all tips but no luck. My screen shows up white then times out and returns to the home screen. It worked the first week but that was all.
My guess is that I would delete the local News content from your device(s) via Settings>iCloud similar to what's described above and relaunch News. I ended up having to do that when I fired up my iPad as well to get the News app to work.
