Hi! Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

If this does not help, restore your device to factory settings. Note that this will erase the data from your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

Let Apple know about the problem using this link.

I also have noticed this problem. Copying text from Safari, for example, will work normally one moment, but then new copy actions do not appear to result in an updated clipboard. When I paste it pastes previously copied text, not the most recent. This seems to happen only with certain web pages - java issue?

Neither resetting or closing open apps made any difference for me.

When I want to copy and paste a text first I have to tap the screen and it highlights the text in blue but it will not give me the option to copy then I tap the screen again and it resets the copy and paste function. The second time i highlight the text I desire to copy it actually allows me to copy. This is invariably the case no matter which program I am trying to copy and paste from.

Or alternatively you could just not copy & paste the traditional garbage response that solves nothing to a problem that many, many people are having. A problem that has nothing whatsoever to do with with resetting the phone & everything to do with the fact that select, copy & paste is broken in iOS 9 (as well as clicking on anything in Safari half of the time when in landscape mode, something that still hasn't been fixed since iOS 8). Even trying to type this I can't place the cursor where I want it when holding down my finger, nothing happens. I've just tried to select & copy something I typed on another website only to be subjected to a 25 minute s**tfight trying to select & copy my text before posting it. Honestly, that response you posted is like telling someone to go & check their fuse box when they've just called to report that their power is out because the power lines are down & sparking on the road outside their front yard. Most people aren't stupid, please don't treat us as such.

WELL SAID CROUCHING WEASEL!!

ios9 is broken. The copy and paste function is broken and is WASTING billions of hours of Apple faithful's precious time!!'

Fix this problem Apple or give all the iPhone 6 Plus users free new 6s or my next phone will be a Samsung. In fact typing this was such a hassle it took me 10 times as long as it would have on a Samsung.

the problem is that reseting and restoring does resolve the issues some are having but if resetting and restoring is a normal fix all, then its time that Apple understands that their devices and or their IOS since 9 is broken. There is no doubt in my mind that the copy and paste function does not work 50% of the time and for those that want to advice to reset and restore etc., know that I am on IOS 9.2 after troubleshooting horrible battery draining issues from upgrading, I reverted to 9.1 and couldnt figure out how to get my pictures and data back etc., so back on 9.2 with the horrible battery issues and the stupid copy and paste bug abd hopefully apple will come put with a patch to resolve soon.

I am having this problem on my phone as well as on my iPads. If I select something and click on copy, and then I switch to another app and paste, it will paste the item I copied previous. I have to hit copy twice for it to work, even though the app says it has successfully copied.

This happens a lot when I am in Messages. I can have someone send me a link and I want to copy it and send that message to another person. I hold on it, and on the iPhone 6S it will pop up and when I slide up and click on copy, it goes away. I then go to the message I want to paste, and then click paste in the message, it will paste text I copied previous to the last copy. I have to then repeat my steps.

This has been happening for a while and figured apple would have fixed it by now. But, nope.

I have also been having this problem since iOS 9. I'm quite sure it's an iOS bug, as it happens in many applications. The problem seems to be with the COPY side. It simply does NOT always place something in the clipboard when you do a copy. It's gotten so bad, I just now have gotten in the habit of doing copy TWICE before trying to paste.
