Q: iOS9 Airdrop to Mac not working

Trying to connect iPhone 6+ iOS9 to 2013 iMac OS X 10.10.5 via Airdrop but not showing up on iMac or iPhone, worked perfectly before iOS 9.

iPhone can Airdrop to another iPhone and iMac can Airdrop to another Mac, but not iPhone to/from Mac.

iOS update was originally done OTA and have reinstalled through iTunes.

Have tried all suggestions I have come across but still they won't connect.

Anyone have similar problems?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 21.5 in 2.9GHZ i5 16 GB

For people having AirDrop troubles after updating to iOS 9, one thing to check is if you have a Me card in the Contacts app that contains your email address or phone number.

If you don’t, try creating a Me card for yourself that includes your iCloud email address and/or iPhone phone number, then turn off the iOS 9 device and turn it back on, and see if that helps.

Strange. I do not have it In previous iOS there was Me...  How to set it Me? I still have my own name in the contacts , but it is not "named" Me? Shall I add new contact Me, duplicating the original byname contact ? It is better to do it via Safari's iCloud.com or, on my iPhone or iMac?

EDIT: I just add new contact with name "Me" and put my phone and email. And bump - the AirDrop start working :-)))))) Encourage everybody to do this.

I Had and have my own name Konstantin in the contacts with my details. But the airdrop does not work. When I add one more contact with name Me - and my phone and email - the airdrop start working. of you do not have Me (but just your name) - do you have airdrop with the iMac ?

by the way - I check now an old iPhone with iOS 8.4 - it shows Me on the top of the contacts. (Additional to the owners separate contact).

The Contact you set should be done in www.cloud.com. Email - chose Home one. Phone - Mobile one. The email should be the same as your AppleID email. And after that -- just wait a little bit to update your contacts in iMac and iPhone

Air Drop is not working for devices  under 9.X.X on iPhones and Mac under Yosemite or Above ...

Anything running OS X or software prior those would have a working Air Drop

the contact card rename as ''me'' is not solving anything , Air drop was working fine with my contact without being rename or modified , there are issues not resolved yet with the latest firmwares . softwares that's all , for now it's a dead end  until Apple is taking care of this .

I've been having the same problem! I can't find my iPhone on my mac ever since i upgraded to iOS 9 and os x capitan! Neither can I send or receive files from other mac books via airdrop. It immediately says that I rejected the file even if no request has been received on my end.

    Help!
