iOS 9 lightening to USB audio clicks and pops

Same, 2011 Saab 9-5. iPhone 6, iOS 9.0 and 9.0.1, Apple Music.

Audio works fine in iOS 8 but pops in iOS 9/9.0.1.

Quite annoying. At least I can confirm now that Chinese versions of GM cars share the same audio system with US ones...ha

UPDATE: Confirmed that this also occurs with my new iPhone 6s on iOS 9.0.1.

Only became an issue directly after upgrading to iOS9, and still after the upgrade to 9.0.1.

I have a 2013 Chevy Tahoe.

I even tried using a different USB cable to no avail.

I'm having the same audio problem with my iPhone 6 + and the new os In my 2012 GMC Denali truck with the factory Bose system when plugged in through the usb. I havent tried the audio jack connection yet. I do know I did not have the problem before the updated os and it seems to work fine on my 2015 Harley's factory nav radio.

Another couple of GM cars with the exact same problem then...

One thing that might be very interesting however: you specify 'factory Bose' system. My Ampera uses a Bose system as well and a lot of Chevy Volt's have this option as well. Might it be even more specific than GM cars? Is it only GM cars with Bose-made audio systems?

My Regal with this issue has a factory Harmon Kardon system.

Ok, so not just Bose systems. I am not quite sure how this works physically: I assume the iPhone decodes the audio file and does all the DRM stuff and then sends a standardized audio output over USB to the audio system for further processing and amplifying?

Anyhow I can now also confirm that 9.0.2 does not solve it.

So the problem boils down to:

- Any iPhone/iPad running iOS9.0/9.0.1/9.0.2/9.1 Public Beta 2

- GM cars with factory audio systems

- Original lightning USB cable

I can confirm IPhone 6 running IOS 9.01 on 2011 GMC Terrain, "pops" and "clicks" since upgrading to IOS 9. Only happens through the lightening port, headphones sound normal.

Just another person here with the same problem. I've tried 3 different devices (iPhone 6 & 6s, and iPad Air) all while running iOS 9.0 - 9.0.1 & 9.0.2. Same issue with multiple usb lightning cords, interesting enough I'm also running a 2012 Denali. Anything pre 9.0 works.

It's still there on iOS 9.1 public beta 3.

Hi! I have the same problem with my Latest version of SAAB 9-5 (2010-2011) which is a GM based car with Harman Kardon stereo . After updating to ios9 the clicks and pops started with my iPhone 6 connected through the lightning cabel. And I tested with all possible music apps...clicks and pops!! My girlfriend have iPhone 6 with the ios 8.4 and got no issues like I didn't have before update.. So it's a software issue on the latest update, even the ios9.2 didn't fix it! So apple, please fix this problem... I've been an apple iPhone fan since you started, because of the sound quality. I really don't want to start looking for a another Mobile brand. Truls (Norway)
