Cannot pair iPhone 6+ to 2014 Macbook Air 13" via bluetooth or Airdrop.

iPhones cannot pair to Computers at all.. AirDrop does not require pairing. Just turn on Bluetooth on both devices, leaving it unpaired, and look for your device in Finder on your Mac.
