This has happened to me twice now since I updated to ios9 yesterday! I get a message (text) and the notification in my lock screen will NOT clear out. I have to restart my phone! I understand if this is a bug it needs to be fixed. I have a 5s. I guess just in time to make me upgrade. Thanks apple.

I have the same problem too on my iPhone 6. It looks like it's a software bug, annoying though!
The only thing that I've noticed has worked (so far and only by mistake) I went to Systems, Notifications and turned on "Group By App". Hope that helps for now.
Also having this issue daily. Only way to get rid of the alert is restart the phone.
I'm having the exact same problem on my iPad air 2, only solution at the moment seems to be to restart the phone. It will probably be permanently fixed in the next software update.
i'm having the same problem, I had it on version 9, 9.01 and now 9.02. It's a total joke that Apple have released 2 updates to iOS 9 and yet they have not managed to fix this. we can't be expected to reset the phone everytime we simply want to clear a notification. It's not that hard. Apple sort it out.

Im having the same problem. At first, I thought it was because my phone had been dropped so many times, but I just got a brand new iPhone 6s yesterday and already it begins. This is a fix that needs to happen immediately, this is very annoying.
