Q: Why won't CD's I have imported to iTunes not sync to my iPad?

I have an old iPad 2 currently running version 8.4.1. It has a 27.8 GB capacity with 19.2 GB still available. Within the past year, I switched from a PC to a Laptop. When that switch was made and after the next iPad software update,  all of the CD's I imported to iTunes disappeared. The only music showing up was what I bought from Apple. I was told that iTunes would not show my music, because I switched computers. So I have begun the task of downloading all of my CD's to iTunes once again. I have done over 30 of them so far. I hooked up my iPad to the laptop and synced it. None of my downloaded (or should I be saying imported) CD's are showing up on the iPad. I am hesitant to update my iPhone, because it still contains all of my music!

While reading other forums, I tried the fix where you have to find a certain folder, rename it, then make a new folder, call it the other folder's pervious name and that should fix it; it did not. I'm sorry if this makes no sense, it's been a while since I did that and can't recall specifics...Here's what I tried:

Before following the steps below, make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

  1. Quit iTunes.
  2. Go to the iTunes folder that contains the iTunes library files:
Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose Go > Home. Open the Music folder, then open the iTunes folder.
    Windows: Navigate to \Users\username\Music\iTunes\.
  3. Drag the iTunes Library.itl file to your Desktop.
  4. In the iTunes folder, open the Previous iTunes Libraries folder.
  5. Find the file named iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY-MM-DD is the date you updated iTunes (Year-Month-Day).
  6. Copy this file to the iTunes folder (the enclosing folder).
  7. Rename the copied file iTunes Library.
  8. Open iTunes.

You should now see your missing content in iTunes.

It did not work. So can anybody tell me why I can't get my CD's to show up on the iPad? This is quite frustrating, as I'm sure you can appreciate. I would like to have all my music back.

Thank you for spending the time to read my issue.
