2nd gen ipod shuffle charging light indicator

My new 2nd gen ipod shuffle light never goes to green when charging. It stays orange. Is it supposed to go to green once the battery is totally charged?

it should go green after it is 80% charged usually after 2 or so hours.. if its not you have a problem.. if a restore does not work you may want to take it in and exchange it for a new one.

Actually, removed from the dock the battery status will
show green when the Shuffle battery has > 30%
charge (Page 8, Pod shuffle_FeaturesGuide.pdf):

green Good charge (30% – 100%)
orange Low charge (10% – 30%)
red Very low charge (< 10%)

The GREEN light while in the dock will ONLY appear
when Shuffle is FULLY charged... this MAY take several charging cycles.

My shuffle experienced this at first also. What I did
was let it play continuously until the battery
completely depleted. After this, when I charged it
again the light went to green in a few hours. I
haven't had the problem since.

So, at least in my experience, it may need at least
one battery cycle to get itself right.

Hmmm... Wasn't that what I said in a previous response when I wrote:
