Photo Booth won't close

Question

Photo Booth won't close

My MB must really not like closing its applications, because this is the second time it's happened.

I tried to close Photo Booth, even right-clicked the icon and pressed "Force Quit", but it won't close.

How do I get it to exit??

1.83 GHz MacBook, 2 GB iPod nano, Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi wantedtobeyour -

If a force quit has no effect try a hard shut down by holding the powerkey down for about 10 seconds. After re-booting normally I would run a permissions repair with Disc Utility and even perhaps delete your Photo Booth preferences from your Library Folder ...User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist

Hopefully that will clear things up.

That's too much work and I'd probably screw it up.

Is there an easier way? This has happened before and someone told me to open the Activity Monitor or something similar and delete it from there (I already went there but it doesn't even show up as an application in use - and it definitely is, and frozen).

Try using the Force Quit option under the Apple menu item. Also, I find that doing the force quit from the app icon sometimes doesn't work the first time but works if you click it a second time.

I have this problem also. Logging out and back in is the only way to close Photo Booth. It's quite annoying. No method of force-quitting will remove it from the dock.
