Sluggish performance and Safari redirects?

I've noticed that my computer has slowed down drastically within the past few days. I have also noticed the following when using Safari:

Between Google search requests and the results a white screen will flash with the following text in the upper left hand corner:

"Please clickhere if you are not redirected within a few seconds."

I'm unable to click on the "here" link to see where exactly it would take me because it only lasts for a half second or so.

I've also failed to access random websites and have (for example) received this message:

"Safari Can’t Open the Page Too many redirects occurred trying to open “https://answers.microsoft.com/en- us/site/startsignin? pageUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fanswers.microsoft.co m%3A80%2Fen- us%3Fauth%3D1&silent=True”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page."

This message has also appeared when navigating random websites:

"This is a non-secure form.

This form will be sent in a way that is not secure. Are you sure you want to send it?"

I don't have extensions enabled for safari (if that's relevant.) I have downloaded the Microsoft Office Suite and a syllabus from my schools student portal. Other than that I haven't introduced anything major to my computer.

I've done some digging around have found references to DNS issues and malware for similar symptoms...

Can anyone shed some light onto what is happening here?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply. I was away from my lap top for a few days. I have gone through many of the links provided but I still have issues with my computer.

I ran the Etresoft diagnostic, here are the results:
