How long dose a factory restore take on iPhone

I had a message on my iPhone to upgrade to ios9 , however since doing this I just have a white screen asking me to swipe to contiue , the problem is it will not swipe, i have covered all the tips and suggestion I found on youtube and other sites to no avail, so now decided to do a factory restore, however this was almost 2 hours ago, and all it reads on iTunes is 'Itunes is downloading the software for this iPhone and will restore the iPhone when the download is complete'...Does anyone here know how long this can take ? As there are no downloading bar to follow it's progress, so to me it feel's like it isnt doing anything :/ Please help as am getting very frustrated and all because of a stupid update message to my phone 😟

When an active download is running a little symbol will appear in the top right corner of the iTunes program window. If you mouse hover above it it indicates the file size, a little circular progress icon in clock style and the estimated remaining download time. At least that's what it looks like in OS X but I would suppose the Windows version is very similar. File size is 1.47 GB which takes considerable time even on a fast internet connection.

But as there's currently a very high demand of iOS 9 downloads your download rate may easily drop to 300 KB/s or less, i.e. 15+ hours of download time. Had that time estimate last night and gave up on it. Downloaded the iOS 9 installation file this morning at a reasonable speed - though not the full speed of my 16 MBit-DSL - in some 20 minutes. So if your download seemingly takes forever I'd probably try it some other time of day again.

Don't worry if the phone cancels the restore mode; iTunes won't delete the 1.5 GB download but keeps it until you restart restore mode and uses it then.
