Q: My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't turn on, well sort of.

Ok so the other day my iPod Touch froze while I was using it and I did that hard reset thing were you hold down the home and lock button at the same time. It reset but after it got to the lock screen it wouldn't let me swipe and then it turned black. So tried it again. Now, whether or not you press the home and lock button at the same time or just the lock button, the Apple logo will come up for a few minutes then the screen will go black and shut off. I know that it shuts off because I can hold the lock button and the Apple logo will reappear and then repeat the same process that I wrote above. Its an iPod Touch 5th Generation 32gb with iOS 8.4.1. Also I don't know if this will be helpful but it has been dropped off of our 20ft balcony in a protective case and I believe was plugged in to the outlet when had power surges during a thunder storms. Any helpful advice is accepted. Thank you in advance.
