Apple ID/iCloud confusion

Everyone in my family has an iPhone, therefore we all have our own Apple IDs, however we all sign in to my dad's iCloud for the Find My iPhone app. With the new iOS 9 update, it added Find My Friends, and its supposed to be through the iCloud, but it has somehow logged me in with my mom's apple ID. Nobody else in my family has gotten the update yet. I was just wondering if there was a way to sign into Find My Friends with my Apple ID, without having to sign out of the family iCloud. Thank you!

Please explain why you all use the same ID for iCloud, I can't think of any reason to want to do this.

That's how we use Find my iPhone. If I log out of that iCloud, I can't see where they are and they can't see where I am. It's a safety thing. If I lose my phone, or if someone steals it, or if someone kidnaps me, they can track it and find out exactly where the phone is.

You can see where other people are by using the Find Friends app.

If you lose your phone you can track it, lock it or wipe by using Find my iPhone on someone else's iOS device or on a computer.

You don't need to use somebody else's ID to do any of this, indeed it's not recommended that you do, things can get messy if you do.

So everyone in my family should sign out of my dad's iCloud and into our own and then just not use Find My iPhone unless something happens? And we can just see each other's locations by using Find Friends?
