Q: iOS 9 iPhone update and now I photo library is blurry and has a white exclamation point in the bottom right corner

i updated the ios9 this morning and now more than half of my iPhoto library is blurry with a white exclamation point in a circle on the right bottom corner. I have tried restarting several time and playing with the iCloud settings with no lucke

    iPhoto does not run on iOS9, the last compatible version for iPhoto iOS was iOS7.

    Are you asking about the Photos.app?

     

    In Photos a circle with an exclamation point indicates, that the original image file needs downloading from iCloud. Are you connected to the internet?

    have you signed into iCloud with the same AppleID you previously used?

    Yes--thank you! I don't remember when I did, but I must have created another sign in profile. Any idea if I could merge the two?

    AppleDs are unique and cannot be merged. You can just stop using the one that you do not want.

    how do you get all the photos to just be on your phone's memory ? My older photos all are blurry and have the exclamation point however I am not updated to ios9. I'm just simply curious as to why my photos are no longer in my physical phone memory and now are only in the cloud ..  How do I get them back on my phone physically like normal ? I never deleted them so I Don't get why they would leave the physical memory.

    Disable the setting "Optimize Storage".

    HI I have switched off phone optimisation and the photos are still blurry and have an exclamation mark - any ideas? Photos of a significant family event I want to get printed are all blurred and I have no idea how to retrieve them

    any help gratefully received

    Is your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, so the originals can download again from iCloud Photo Library?  Then tap the photo you want to rint to enlarge them and wait for the download.

    i am on wifi now and  have tapped the pictures but the photos still have the ! And are blurry - any ideas?

    Then Photos cannot download the originals from iCloud. You may have interrupted the upload to iCloud before it was complete.

    Is your iCloud storage large enough to be holding all your photos?

    the storage is definitely enough - in settings it says there are 2 photos waiting to upload but not sure how to make this happen

    As long as there are photos waiting to upload, the other photos will not download.

    It would help, if you could identify the two photos and delete them from your iPhone.

    If your Photos library were on a Mac you could create a smart album with the rule "Photo is unable to upload to iCloud Photo Library".  But Photos on the iPhone does not allow to create smart albums.  Photos will not upload, if they are corrupted in some way, or if the format is incompatible.  Did you save any photos to your camera roll that might be incompatible? Perhaps photos or videos received by email? Or edited in an external editor?

    Could you access your iCloud Photo Library from a computer using the web interface at www.cloud.com to check, which photos did upload and which not?

    This may be a bit tedious, but this is the only way I could get them to download.  I went to each picture and hit edit.  Since the photo can't be edited in the cloud, it started the download.
