Apple headset in Windows 10 under Boot Camp 6

I know this is a returning question and there have been lots of earlier questions regarding this issue. But no recent questions though, so I hope for a possible solution.

I have a late 2013 iMac 27" running the newest version of OS X Yosemite. I am running Boot Camp 6, and I've just updated to Windows 10. I wish to use a headset, using only the minijack connecter. This could be the regular Apple EarPods headset or a pair of BOSE QuietComfort. This is not possible with earlier versions of Windows and Boot Camp, but I was under the impression that this should have been fixed with the recent version og Windows and Boot Camp.

Is this true, or am I STILL forced to use a dongle or a USB-headset?

The faint red light indicates that the jack is expecting to be connected to a digital optical cable. Please see .Troubleshooting issues with no audio from built-in speakers on Macs - Apple Support .

You will need to uninstall the driver, reset the SMC and NVRAM, and re-install the driver on the Windows side. The OS X side is correctly resetting the port, but Windows side is not.

Hey Loner

Thanks for helping out so far. I uninstalled all Cirrus Logic related drivers, did a new SMC and NVRAM reset and then installed the drivers from the Boot Camp driver package.

No change. Windows still doesn't recognize the microphone and there is still a faint red light out of the minijack port. Any other good ideas? 🙂
