My new macbook pro recognizes my Seagate external hard drive, however, it will not allow me to drag and drop new movies into it. I used this external hard drive with an older iMac (it just died) to install moves. Why won't the external drive allow drag and drop if everything shows up on the desktop, and movies play from it? Any thoughts?
How is the drive formatted?

Thank you for your response. The HDD is formatted NTFS which allows you to read but not write to it.
You can reformat it to a Mac only format, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or a format common to PC and Mac, FAT32 or exFAT. Note that reformatting will ERASE ALL USER DATA.
Ot you may use a third party application such as Tuxera or Paragon that will allow you to write to the drive.

Thank you for your help. Turns out I needed the right driver but it was not included in the external hard drive so I downloaded it from Paragon. I took screen shots of the steps in case someone else has this problem.
