Can't delete songs from my ishuffle. Get "The ipod "name" cannot be synced. The disk is not available." message. How can i fix this?

I'm trying to delete songs on my ishuffle. Get this message when I click the delete button: "The ipod "name" cannot be synced. The disk is not available." Any one out there know how to fix this?
