Windows Set Up freezes when installing Windows 7 64bit

Hey guys!

This is a REALLY though one (!!).

These are my specs:

  • Win7 64bit Home Premium
  • Mac Mini (late 2014, 3.0GHz i7 processor, 16gb RAM and 1TB HDD
  • OSX El Capitan 10.11 GM (15A278b)
  • Boot Camp Assistant 6.0.0 (518)
  • Apple Cinema Display 24”
  • USB Memory Stick (ZAP 8gb)
  • Apple Magic Mouse
  • Apple Transparent Mouse
  • Regular Windows wired keyboard and mouse
  • Logitech k750 keyboard (a Mac-Keyboard)

I have tried to install Win7 for almost three months straight now, but the process has always ended at the same spot – Win7 does not recognize my Logitech k750, my Apple Magic Mouse, my old Apple transparent mouse or my basic wired Windows-based mouse and keyboard. When my computer tries to boot with the USB-stick with the installation disc and the Boot Camp 5 folder (a folder Bootcamp 6.0 require me to install and put in the USB with the installation disc from the website it advices me to because the 6.0 version does not support Win7) everything works fine until after the “Windows is starting” loading screen ends. Then Win7 does not recognize my keyboard nor my mouses.

Sometimes the Windows Boot Assistant starts after I have told Boot Camp to start Windows. All my keyboards works fine there, and I have even managed to start Windows 7 Setup in Safe Mode. The problem is again that all my keyboards and mouses stops working at the setup screen.

I am really tired of this issue, and trust me – I have done a lot to try to fix it (troubleshooting, searched the internet for solutions etc.) – but for no use. What can I do now? Do you have any idea what to do? 😕

Edit: I have tried to install Win7 with .iso files from both the original CD and from windows' own website

Is this during installation or after the installation is complete? Do the peripherals work during the installation but not later?

Can you post a screen shot of the Installer USB File structure using Grab?

  • OSX El Capitan 10.11 GM (15A278b)
  • Boot Camp Assistant 6.0.0 (518)

These can cause problems, since ELC and BC6 Assistant are not GA yet.

Mixing 5.1.5621 and 6.0.6133 drivers can lead to more complications. At least this answers my first question.

This is during installation. This is the step-by-step model:

Model 1:

  • Turn on computer
  • Hold in "Alt" key
  • Boot Manager opens and I Choose Windows
  • "Windows is loading files" screen
  • Setup screen (where I choose language etc.): freeze

Model 2:

  • Turn on computer
  • Hold in "Alt" key
  • Boot Manager opens and I Choose Windows
  • Windows' Boot Manager opens
  • Keyboard and mouse works fine, I get the options to cancel, run Windows Setup or run Windows in Safe Mode
  • Wether I run it in safe mode or normal I end up at the first Setup screen, which is frozen, just as in model 1

The file structure goes like this:
