Q: iOS9 not working on iPhone 5

I downloaded iOS9 on my iPhone 5 and it stopped working. After downloading and restarting, it stopped on the third screen that says "slide to upgrade". I went to an Apple reseller store and the salesman would charge me to reset to fabric settings. It would mean to lose a lot of content I have on my phone, so its not an option. What to do? I read this bug is happening to a few people. When we are gonna be able to recover our phone?
