Itunes 12.3.0 AAC encoder not allowing me to change custom settings

Hello -

The AAC encoder in iTunes (iTunes -> Preferences-> Import Settings -> Custom) is not allowing me to make changes to custom settings - under "custom", it defaults to 128 kbps and variable bit recording, but when I try to change it to 160 kbps with variable bit recording, the dialog box that used to pop up does not anymore. Does anyone have any advice for enabling the custom setting to allow changes again?

J Handey,

There have been versions of that issue posted here before. It sounds like a bug.

You might consider upgrading to the newest iTunes. In 12.3.3, setting the preferences to AAC/160-VBR worked fine on my machine.

Or you can choose a slightly different setting, e.g., AAC/160-CBR or AAC/192-CBR.
