Q: Can't control document print size using Pages

I have Pages 5.5.3 (2152) on my iMac. I have a 118 row document that I print very small on one 8.5 x 11 sheet with no header or footer and .2 top & bottom margins. I edit it periodically but something changed and I cannot figure out how to get it to print one one page again. There is no Print preview in Pages (what is Apple thinking?). I use Arial 5 or 6pt with no borders or outlines. It won't allow me to reduce the row height below 0.11. Arrange says it's 8.11 Wide by 61.79 High but Document Portrait says it's 15.74 by 20.37. After using Word & Excel, I find Pages & Numbers to be crude and non-intuitive. When I try to print with an Epson XP-610, it shows it as a one-page document but that's not how it prints it.

I noticed that the table outline appears to go to row 182 but can't find a way to say that the table only goes to row 118. Deleting rows at the bottom didn't help.

There is a print preview. Have you expanded your Print dialogue box?

If you are only using a Table/Spreadsheet and want to print only certain cells, why are you not using Numbers?

Pages will work with embedded tables in the default text but will not split cells.

What fits on a page fits on a page.

You do not have to use Pages if it doesn't suit, there are many other Apps available, including Word for Mac, and LibreOffice [free].

Thanks for your response! I'm printing the entire page, not selected cells. I created my document in Excel, converted it to Numbers, tried Libre Office, went back to Numbers, & now have it in Pages. I expand the print dialog box with Show Details. I believe the Print Preview is under PDF, Open PDF in print preview. I just abandoned the table format I had. It took some research and a work-around but finally figured out how to get rid of the table format without losing my text. I found another page control that is not with the rest of the controls in Inspector under File, Page Setup and by putting it back to 100%, Document Setup now shows 8.5 x 11 Portrait. View, Show Rulers indicates the size of my text area on the page. I also found Print, Paper Handling, Scale to fit paper size but don't think I'll need that. The various layout controls & their location still seem confusing but I think I'm learning how to manage the printed result.

The Print preview is part of the general Print Dialogue, the Print PDF is just what it says it prints to PDF.

I think you are being confused by the App called Preview which opens all graphics files on Mac including pdfs.

Everything is fairly well labelled, just look around.

In the Format panel under the Text Style tab, there is a ▸ Spacing category. Click it to open, and you will have a selector that defaults to Lines, and to the right, the ability to set your spacing in decimal values. In addition to Lines, you also have At Least, Exactly, and Between capability. You can even set exact line height  in points. Check that your Before Paragraph, and After Paragraph settings are correct for your needs.
