Q: Cannot turn off Facebook notifications

I have unchecked the notifications from Facebook in Notification Center, and even took Facebook out.

I still get notifications from Facebook, about twenty per hour.

Why doesn't turning them off in Notification center work?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 512 Gb SSD, 16 Gb RAM

I signed up on this forum, just to ask this question. It has been really bothering me for some time. I dont even use Facebook and I keep getting these popup notifications. I have been to the Preferences > Internet Accounts and there is not a Facebook account created. I hope we get an answer to this!

Have you tried System Preferences/Notifications to turn off Facebook?
