How do I print past photos with dates?

I have taken photos with my iPhone 6 and downloaded them to my iMac with OS X Yosemite. My Photo app is version 1.0.1 (215.65.0). I can't figure out how to send them to a third party printer and have the date they were taken displayed on the picture itself. Is there any way I can do that?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

The only way to put the date on the image of a photo is to use a 3rd party image editor to add the text/date to the image itself.

There are also watermarking apps that can add text or a date to an image. Go to MacUpdate.com and search for watermark to get a list of potential candidates.


There's also a free watermarking plug-in for iPhoto that can add text to an image during export. It's called BorderFX.
