Oct 4, 2015 8:33 AM in response to Jagspecialby imino,Not only this "black out" problem. Also spotlight search acts peculiarly and it excludes, at will, the items to search. For example, in some cases, it does not search the contacts, whereas searching when in contacts app is OK.
Still no sound from Apple.

Oct 5, 2015 1:17 AM in response to Jagspecialby npapanik,I have just submitted the following bug to Apple:
As seen on the apple forums: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7226876?start=0&tstart=0
I have confirmed the problem on my iPhone 6 my wife's 5s and a colleague's 5c.
The problem starts occurring AFTER you make a call with "Voice Control" from the lock screen. If you restart the iPhone the problems stops until you use Voice Control again. Note that Siri is disabled on all the iPhones that I have reproduced the problem. Also note that the problem started with iOS 9.0. I have reset my iPhone to default settings to no avail.
Hope they act accordingly...

Oct 5, 2015 2:56 AM in response to Jagspecialby lampshadecollar,Seems to be an issue with the new Standard vs. Zoomed display setting. Going back into Settings and toggling Standard/Zoomed back and forth seemed to resolve the issue for me

Oct 5, 2015 3:05 AM in response to Jagspecialby nohope4wp,I have the same issue. iPhone 5C. 1st happened with ios 9.0.1 still persistent under 9.0.2. For several apps my display turns black, but for messages it turns white... this is so annoying. Hey what'up in Cupertino? Your quality control for ios updates keeps getting worse.

Oct 5, 2015 6:47 AM in response to Jagspecialby theogmike,I Have this problem too. iPhone 6 on iOS 9.0.2. When you pay this amount of money for a mobile you should not experience these kind of problems.

Oct 5, 2015 6:55 AM in response to Jagspecialby ejf73,Having same issue. Notice it most when I try to open a link in Twitter on Safari. It just goes black then back to home screen. Also, when the battery life shows 20% or so, the phone will shut off as if it's out of battery. However, the second you put in the connector it comes back on with the same battery life.

Oct 5, 2015 7:15 AM in response to Jagspecialby Gregorypscott,I had the same problem. Then I bought a new phone and all the apps work fine until I did a restore from iTunes, then the problem started again. So I figured it must be some app I'm running in the background that does not like the new update. So I did a restore back to manufacturers setting about five days ago and I have not had a problem cents. I just keep slowly adding apps as I need them and carefully watch for the problems to start again which so far has not happened. I recommend you do a restore to manufacture settings and do not use iTunes to restore all of your old apps and see if the problem is gone

Oct 5, 2015 7:37 AM in response to Gregorypscottby Bepash,Gregory, did you try this ?
Black Screen When you try to open Application for First Time
--- start copy/paste from Gabriel_Kir ---
The problem is not random
in order to replicate the issue do the following.
restart the phone (the problem dissapear)
from Locked Screen
Press the home button in order to do a voice call. or use what ever u use to do voice calls (car kit, hand free etc)
do a call that the other will answer.
close the call as you usually do.
Try to open an application that it wasn't previously opened e.g. Calendar. you get the black screen
You get the black screen on first startup of any application
*** If you go to home and reopen the application then it will appear ok because it was already opened and was in the background.
** if you kill/close the application and try to reopen it, you will get again the black screen.
* This also happens to the camera shortcut on locked screen
***** In order to temporary fix the issue, restart the phone and everything will be ok until u do a voice call.
I hope that this post will help Apple devs to create a fix for the issue.

Oct 5, 2015 2:00 PM in response to Jagspecialby jersonsky,This black screen issue use to happen since ios 7 for the locked screen camera shortcut. Now it makes the phone impossible to use since it happens with all the apps.
It was related to the voice control and the fact that Siri was not on. But I think it only happened to iphones not set to English language. I have it set to Spanish.
Perhaps this info helps Apple people to solve it.
Also if they hear non Siri users: please add a voice command to turn Siri on, and a Siri command to turn Siri off using the voice.

Oct 5, 2015 7:59 PM in response to Jagspecialby HaveTrunk,My new iPhone 6 Plus 64g has the same issue. It started when I was driving home from the store after buying the phone last night. When I took it into the store today, I couldn't get the issue to replicate. You guessed it, 15 minutes out the door...same problem. Back to the store tomorrow. I'm hoping for a solution ASAP. I'm missing my iPhone 5s.
