Q: iPhone 6 updated to ios9 screen goes black when I open an app

I Am calling through call someone and everything is ok at the moment... Phone seems a little laggy on some apps on this update but is definitely more usable than before that makes the wait easier until the next update!

I have this problem, too.  I just bought an iPhone 6s yesterday.  It updated to 9.0.1 last night.  This afternoon it started doing the open with black screen.

Well folks, after the update to IOS 9.0.2, the problem returned.

OPS! Then no use of updating now it self - never know what is more broken on it.

This anyways had not listed a bug fix for our issue.

I confirm the black screen problem is back in 9.0.2.  NOT fixed.

After installing 9.02 black screen issue came back after using apple headphones and voice command phone dialing....

COME ON APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS.......

Confirm issue persists after 9.0.2, but this bug wasn't specifically addressed... Not sure if it is doing a call with a wired headset/voice activated or Safari.  Switching to Safari if already open seems to bring this back from a reboot too...

Please, Apple, you've done a great job with the hardware part, so could you use all those amazing talents and resources to make the new software part work as intended again?

I add to the post 670JMC wrote; I haven't used my wired apple headset after 9.0.2 update, but used Bluetooth headset. Still no black screen!!

My wife started having the issue with the screen going black when opening any app on Tuesday. She has an iPhone 6s that came with iOS 9. She since upgraded to iOS 9.0.1 and then 9.0.2 when it was released. The issue persisted. This morning, I performed a hard restart on her phone by holding the home and power buttons until the screen turned black and turned back on with the Apple logo. Only time will tell if that fixed the issue.

I also got an iPhone 6s at the same time. Like her, I started at iOS 9, updated to 9.0.1 on Monday, and then updated to 9.0.2 early this morning (around 3 AM EST). I have not had any issues.

no worries fellow apple-owners, this will definitely be resolved by the release of the new glowing Iphone 7 and IOS X next year:) But having learnt the lesson, we will not update for a good while, shall we?

True... the wait is hard though.

I had same problem, but it seems to get solved, when I enable Siri. (I had deactivated her, because it seems to solve some of the lag, from the new update).

So that's a temporary fix until they get around to it...
