I am having trouble opening files that I've downloaded. I keep getting the prompt "unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because it is not scriptable." Then I get "the document could not be opened. Script Editor cannot open files in the "Script Editor Document" format. Most of these are wmv files, but one was sent from Entourage...and eml file. I'm new to Mac and not super with computers! Please help!
I have downloaded that and it shows up on my desktop but when I click on it, it says the same thing the others do..."unable to read, etc.".Is there something else I need to do to activate that...is it blocked somehow?
2. The Mac OS X version of Windows Media Player comes as a .bin file; Mac OS X 10.4 cannot handle these files by itself, but
StuffIt Expander can open these files.
The suffixes are wmv, eml, and sitx....the only ones I've downloaded that are opening without problems are pps and doc and dmg......I also took someone's reccommendation and downloaded flip4mac, but I'm still having the same problem.
Niel is right, for some unknown reason the Winows Media Player comes in a Stuffit package. You should download and install Stuffit Expander from the page Niel gave. Then you can open the WMP installer.
