Having same issue here with one of my website's schedule pages in IOS 9 and 9.0.1, rendered on an iPad 2 16GB with Safari. The page rendering is HUGE and just about unusable. I've tried clearing the cache, turning off Javascript - works but the page needs it to fully function. I've also gone through my source and made sure there are no html errors to the best of my understanding and W3.Org verification, no JavaScript errors in Firefox and Chrome debuggers, and the page has a Meta Viewport tag for tablets and phones.
It worked fine in IOS8 the last time I checked. The page works as expected with Safari on a Macbook Air, and on Windows 10: Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Echo, IE11, and Safari-the ancient defunct Windows version.
I have found something of a workaround for the issue:
- Load page http://www.arnb.org/Festivals.php It shows huge on the Ipad
- click the + Favorites icon (make sure Favorites is not showing or this fails)
- tap title bar for "Arnb.Org Swing......." Page shows normally
- If "continue to site" button is tapped on my page the resulting page also will almost always show normally.
- In IOS 9 but not in IOS9.0.1 tapping Favorites then the title bar for "Arnb.Org Swing......." made the display huge again
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas, although my gut is saying this is an IOS 9 Safari system bug.
