How to make Photos upload faster?

I wanted to use Apple Photos to always have my photos in the same albums across all devices without plugging anything in. However, even one album seems to take days to upload. I have a 50Mbps upload with fiber optic. It should be able to upload all my photos quickly.

I'm guessing they have it throttled. How can I change that?

Thanks for that info but the situation is VERY annoying. I have been trying to upload 3,000 photos for weeks and am lucky if I get 10 uploaded per day. It could take me a year to get my recent travel photos uploaded at this rate and by then I will have many more photos waiting.
