I'm having trouble downloading safari onto my windows computer

When I tried to download safari, rather than opening an installer, 7zip opened. What should I do? I operate on windows 8

You should not use Safari for Windows at all. Apple gave it up in May 2012 at version 5.1.7 and has made no further upgrades for compatibility or security. Apple has removed it from their download pages; unscrupulous third-party download hosting sites have not. Avoid the temptation to get it from them.

Even on a Mac, version 5.1.7 is no longer secure and fails to open more and more pages that are nowchecking browser versions and compatibility. When I work in Windows I prefer FireFox.
