black screen on iphone5s next day after ios9 update. how can I handle this? phone still rings and siri occasionally says something but phone wont turn off and on and screen is totally black and unresponsive.

I had the same issue about 2 hours ago and this is what i did.
Hopefully you have some sort of backup on your computer or on iCloud to get everything back after you restore it
1) Open up iTunes
2) Plug up your iPhone to your Laptop / Computer
3) Go to your phone on iTunes
4) Put your phone in Recovery Mode
After that iTunes should give you a message saying that your phone had entered Recovery Mode and then you can click the Restore button.
Once the process of restoring your phone is done you can go and select your most recent Backup to get all your Pictures, Videos, Apps, Etc. back.
