Sep 20, 2015 12:35 PM in response to Robert Winiarskiby BDAqua,Hi Robert,
Is the new drive 1.5 Gb/sec compatible?
Did you do this with the Install Disc?
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
& format the Disk HFS+?

Sep 20, 2015 7:35 PM in response to BDAquaby Robert Winiarski,The new drive is compatible, as is the one that shipped with the computer, which was operating fine until, without any warning, when I tried to start up one morning, it failed to start. I kept getting the icon of a folder with a flashing question mark.
Neither one is recognized by Disc Utility. That's my problem. It's not with the drives but with the computer somewhere. Yes, I did this with the OS X install disc. Because the discs are not being recognized I am unable to go any further. I've even tried my TechTools Pro disc and it can't recognize any internal drives.

Sep 24, 2015 9:35 AM in response to BDAquaby Robert Winiarski,No, it didn't work. Think I'll hunt around for a kit to convert an internal drive to an external and hook it up to the Mini to try and salvage the data.
