siri dictation not responding ios9

Hi,

iPhone 6 IOS9

Siri not responding neither is auto dictation.

Have tried ogling the settings for Siri and auto dictation - restarting in-between to see if this fixes the problem, no luck.

Phone and other apps seem to be fine such as voice recorder which shows the mic is working fine. Have tried reseting the wifi and restarting the phone. Google now works fine but no Siri? Reluctant to reset phone as will last backup is post IOS 9.

Appreciate any ideas?

iPhone 6 Plus...same issue

Siri and dictationon mine functions fine with earbud microfone. Worked like a charm with all iOS8.x.x's. Tried resetting all network settings, voice recorder shows the mic is working.Fine

any sollutions to this

The mic responsible for Siri is not the bottom mic (Testing with Voice Memos is irrelevant)

Test the front mic by recording a video with the front camera.

It is inside the receiver. Is the receiver volume also low?

It could be a clogged receiver.

Clear the receiver

The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty. Here's where the receiver is:

Follow these steps, testing after each:

Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver, such as a case or film.
If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location.
