When creating a slide show in iPhoto 11, I am unable to enter a text slide. Any suggestions?

Q: how to add text slide to iphoto slide show
What version of iPhoto are you running? Also what system?
Do you want to add text to an existing image in the slideshow or a blank image with text on it?
What theme are you using in the slideshow?
