I updated my iPhone5 software to IOS9 and now my phone is frozen on the slider screen. How do I fix this?

SSame thing happening to me- iTunes says phone updated w 9- but phone in slider mode. Trying to back up, after several hours- unable to complete. Do you think Genius Bar can help or will I lose all info from previous back up month ago.
