ios9 has caused my phone to freeze on the 'Slide to upgrade' screen. Any suggestions?

I have completed the entire ios9 upgrade on my phone. The upgrade went through the entire process and reached as far as the 'Slide to upgrade' screen. At this point my phone keeps freezing and won't let me complete the upgrade. It has been frozen on this screen for 3 days now! Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
