ios slide to upgrade bug. Ran out of options

So much like a lot of other people my ipad has been rendered unusable by apples latest update by freezing on the slide to upgrade screen. So far this is what I have tried

• Apparently I needed to sync my ipad with iTunes on my laptop so did that after needing to update the newest version and all the rest
• I created a back up after getting passed all the fiddly pitfalls there
• I tried to restore back up. Unfortunately a message pops up saying that since find my ipad is on it cannot restore
• I went on to I cloud and removed my ipad from the list of find my ipad as was suggested
• Message is still coming up that I need to disable find my ipad

Soooooo......what now? Any ideas Apple?
