Q: IOS9 PHOTOS IS CROPPING ALL PHOTOS. WHY?????

I just found out iOS 9 is cropping in on all of my photos. I'm a professional photographer and do not want IOS 9 to crop in on all 5,000 plus photos on my iPad. I hope this is a bug and apple hasn't decided to crop photos for me. Any one else having this problem.

I was planning to get the iPad pro soon but if iOS is still doing this. I may have to find an alternate tablet from a competitor. I have used apple products since 1993 and lately I have have too many problems with their products

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 9, IOS9 PHOTOS IS CROPPING ALL PHOTOS.

I just spent an hour on the phone with Apple support. This is the way the Photos app works with IOS9, and there is no way to work around it. I suggest everyone lodge a complaint at apple.com/feedback. As far as I'm concerned this makes the iPad completely useless for any serious photographer.

It only recently dawned on my that ios9.1 was doing this to all my photos. I shoot 3:2 and yet the 4:3 screen on my ipad2 was showing photos without any cropping or black bars. Quite incredible that Apple would implement such a decision without any warning, and without the option to disable it. I am aware that if you zoom in, and then out, you get the photo as it should appear, but this is clearly less than ideal.

Has anyone done an experiment to test where the aspect ratio threshold kicks in? My more panoramic shots (eg 2:1) are displayed fine. So Apple must be looking at the aspect ratio, and when it gets small enough they decide to crop off the sides. This is extraordinarily arrogant and naive behaviour, and wreaks havoc with any serious photographer trying to showcase their work. What on earth were Apple thinking?

I also note the top of this thread says "Branched to a new discussion" yet I cannot open the new link (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7356739) as it says "Unauthorized".

Whichever clown at Apple approved this design decision should be disciplined for their utter stupidity

Also the same problem here on my iPhone 6s and iOS9.2. Does Apple think that I like to double tap twice on every photo in order to see it the ratio I captured it??? Is it too much to ask to think ahead and make an option for this!?

Have you reported the issue to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html?

IM glad that I found this post because I thought I was crazy for a moment. I also noticed that if I take a photo while recording a video then those pho photos show up in the proper ratio. This is really strange and I hope they fix it soon.

I use Photosync (photosync-app.com) to display my photos. This is an excellent app available from the app store. It is primarily intended for wireless photo transfers between devices, NAS, cloud and photo services. But you can use it for displaying full screen pictures as well, and they are always displayed in the original aspect ratio, with top/bottom or left/right black bars as needed.
