I absolutely cannot navigate in Garageband ten, after weeks of effort. They changed everything and I completely hate it. I have iLife 09 but it won't let me install GB9 on my 2015 imac, is there any possible way to run GB9 on this computer?
Which MacOS X version do you have on your Mac? Are you running Yosemite?
GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5 is running well on Yosemite; you could try to get an iLife '11 installer from Amazon or eBay and update the GarageBand version from the installer disk to version 6.0.5. using this update: GarageBand 6.0.5
Yosemite yes, 10.10.4. I can't open any of my old GB files with working software tracks. I have the ilife 09 install disc, but the garageband option is grayed out, and the system won't let me install it.
Did you uninstall the new GarageBand?
No, I was hoping to keep it for future use (new samples and stuff) ... Will GB9 work for sure if I uninstall? I don't want to be stuck without an interface.
The new GarageBand 10.0 and GarageBand '1, version 6.0.5 can be run in parallel on Yosemite and El Capitan. But I really don't know if GarageBand '09 will work with Yosemite, since i don't have it installed any longer on any of my Macs.
