I received the error saying could not add the card when I tried to add my Discover card to my Apple Watch (OS2). I tried another Discover from my friend. Same problem. But both cards can be added to iPhone 6. Not sure if it's a bug for OS2

I Got an error the first time I tried as well. I think it timed out, probably due to demand on the server.
I just retried immediately and it added with no problem On the second try.
I just tried it again, still can't. Oh no!!!!!!!!
I saw another post saying Discover is not supporting adding Discover cards to Apple Watches using an iPhone 5/5C/5S. Not sure if it's true, but it holds up in my testing. I was unable to(iPhone 5S), but my friend was(iPhone 6).
same issues here. I've tried many times but still failed. I think iPhone 5s with apple watch is not supported right now. My friends with iPhone6 are all good.
Maybe iOS 9.1 it will be fixed. I saw one guy said he has 5s with iOS 9 beta and he could add the card on his watch.
I just solved the bug by reset my watch. Unpair the watch and pair again. It's kind of like restart your computer to install software completely.

did you set up as a new watch ? I didn't try restore the backup.
I restored from my backup. But I don't think it matters. The key point should be the reset.

Exact same issue.
Try to add a Discover card on file, enter security code, agree terms and conditions. "Talking to card issuer" takes a few seconds and then "Could Not Add Card"
My visa card works just fine.
I've tried all possible ways people have suggested but none of those works.
