Sep 21, 2015 2:16 PM in response to Stevomacrocketby Red.Dogz,II've completed the installation on 2 watches. The verification process takes as long as the download. If you're not actually getting an error message that says the process failed, just let it sit. It's slow - presumably from the volume of requests on the update server - but if your connection is stable it should finish.

Sep 21, 2015 3:09 PM in response to Stevomacrocketby Joe_Mac,I had the same problem ... after second attempt, and waiting 1 hour on Verifying step ... I powered down my Watch and eureka, it came back as 2.0 (after 2 cycles of the initial Watch start up display). So Verifying step appears to be problematic ...

Sep 21, 2015 8:44 PM in response to Sherman Chenby BruceTheCurler,I finally decided to try re-booting my iPhone. The first time it came back up, the Watch app said it was not connected to the Internet. Then I re-booted my iPhone again and tried both e-mail and Safari to verify that it was connected. Then, when I tried the Watch app again, it went right to Verifying and within a minute, switched to Preparing. About 3 minutes later, the watch shows the circular pattern that indicated the update was being installed.

Sep 21, 2015 9:17 PM in response to Stevomacrocketby Harry949,MMine hung up on "Verify" and after a couple of hours my iPhone froze. I did a hard reboot and started the update process again. It immediately went to install and finished in about 30 minutes.

Apple WatchYes - I updated after re-enabling the PASSCODE on the Watch and restarting both the watch and the iPhone
It then installed the updated smoothly.
When I had earlier restarted both the phone and the watch without re-enabling passcode it was stuck on the Verifying stage forever.
My wife watch updated on the first try and then i figured the only difference in our Watch OS 1 setting was that i had Wallet and Passcode enabled and she did not. The OS2 updated was probably trying to validate the passcode as a secure card was stored on the watch already.
Hope it works for you...

Sep 22, 2015 5:05 AM in response to Stevomacrocketby jimfromland o lakes,I was stuck on verifying, until I turned off the iWatch passcode using the iPhone's iWatch app. Next time I went to General and started the software update, it ran through the process in about 30 minutes. After that I just turned the passcode back on.

Sep 22, 2015 9:25 AM in response to KK Mac User Since 1986by Martin_JK,I was having the same issue - stuck in verifying mode. I actually chatted with Apple Support and they couldn't help me. Turning passcode off on the watch worked. It got past the verification phase in about 2 mins and then started installing the update.
