I am having the same issue as well. It was working fine, then it stopped working. The screen just spins, like it is trying to load, but it won't. Hopefully someone has a solution.
I am running classroom of iMacs with Yosemite and google drive isn't loading from Safari as well. All users are logging in as network users. Maybe this is somehow causing the problem? Still - it was working fine before.
You're less likely to find a solution on the iTunes for Mac forum, the one to which you posted this. I will request this be relocated to the Safari forum.
I updated Safari and other java everything works now.
I updated Safari and other updates on my computer including Java.... it all works now.
I am on the latest version of Yosemite, Java and Safari and I am still stuck with a spin on Drive loading. Works fine in Chrome and Firefox. We are also in a school setup with Active Director and Network Homes.
Are you on Active Directory or Mac OS LDAP for your users? What version?
Network homes over MacOS X Server (10.6.8) LDAP.
There is also a thread in the google forums: Google Groups
I have rulled out our filter, firewall, and ISP by using my cell phone connection to test with. I have ruled out our base OS image by testing it with a new install of 10.10.5. Ruled out a google problem by seeing it work in Chrome and Firefox. Very bazar. Ruled out network based home directories by setting it to force local homes in Directory Utility. Ruled out non-admin users by testing it with both admin and local accounts.
Would you mind filing a bug report with Apple? If they hear from more of us I think will get their attention.
Reported the problem
I have the same problem. I am in a public school with 2000 users who cannot use Safari with Google Drive.
Running Windows Server 2008 R2
Yesomite 10.10.4
Safari 8 ( I have upgraded to 9 on a few test machines issue persists)
Its Mac with users having home drives on Windows Server 2008 R2. Updating Flash, JAVA, clear cookies, does not resolve the issue and shouldn't be a fix for 2000 users accounts. That's alot of manual work. Seems like Apple doesn't want to do business with an Education setting with thousands of users. Works great in Chrome.
Well, then, definately Apple bug. They closed my bug report without much of a comment other than it was a duplicate of another report. Adam Gerson how is your report going?
For a while they were asking for feedback, but they have gone silent for over a week. The bug report is still open.
Its strange, because its clearly an Apple bug, but Google must have changed something on their end since this worked last school year for us in the same setup. I wonder if QUIC has anything told do with it. http://techcrunch.com/2015/04/18/google-wants-to-speed-up-the-web-with-its-quic- protocol/#.npghr2:c1SG
Has anyone notice that the loading of Drive contents has slowed down in network accounts?
Adam,
This is the problem I am having. Google Drive will not load on a User Accounts that are bound to Active Directory. It works fine on a local profile on the computer itself.
