Q: Imported iCloud documents do not open in iOS 9

When a 3rd-party Pages, Numbers or Keynote shared document is received by an iOS 9 device (through a web link or an email), the document image appears onscreen, but there is no way to download the document so it can be opened in the relevant app.

The ‘To edit on the web, open the link on a Mac or PC’ screen appears, but when the ‘Download’ button is tapped (after the document type is selected), nothing happens. The screen image of the document appears, but neither the Export menu or the ‘Open in…’ menu contains an icon to open a Pages document in Pages, Numbers document in Numbers or Keynote document in Keynote.

I have tried this on an iPad Mini with OS9 and iPad Air 2 with OS9. I visited my local Apple store to confirm this on multiple devices, and the Apple employee confirmed the bug. iOS 8 devices still work as advertised, opening a copy of the shared document in the relevant app.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. On an iOS 9 device, link to a shared Pages, Numbers or Keynote document

For example:

2. The normal ‘To edit on the web, open the link on a Mac or PC’ screen appears. Click on the 'Download' button'

3. An image of the document appears, but no 'Open in Pages'  link.

Expected Results:

In iOS 8, after step 3 above, a 'Open in Pages' link appears onscreen, opening the document in the Pages app.

(or a Numbers document in the Numbers app - a Keynote document in the Keynote app)

Actual Results:

In iOS 9, after step 3 above, no 'Open in Pages' link appears onscreen, preventing the user from editing or saving the document.

(or a Numbers document in the Numbers app - a Keynote document in the Keynote app)

Version:
