Q: anyone else having issues with the watchOS 2 install? Mine seems to hang during the verification process

I downloaded watchOS 2. My iPhone (with the latest version of iOS9) is connected to the wireless and my watch is charged and on the charger next to my phone. It gets to the verification phase and hangs. I've tried this 2 or 3 times and I'm still waiting on verification. Anyone else seeing this issue? If so, have you been able to install?.

Apple Watch Sport 42mm, watchOS 1.0.1

Yes! I tried and gave up with a 16 hour estimate install. I tried again an hour later and installed. IT IS THE WORST I WISH I HAD NEVER upgraded!

Don't do it. Added watch interfaces are idiotic. The rest just eats battery and does not give total calorie count on Activity App.

Mine is even worse! My watch entered into infinite loop of boot and never came back. I will have to bring it to AppleStore for further look. Until then, no watch

Yes, I had the same problem. I rebooted the watch and now it is installing.

Mine does give all the details in Activity App. You might want to give it some time to do some downloading between the phone and the watch.  Also try doing a hard rest on the watch and than on the iPhone watch app ask to check the software upgrade. it will say ios2 is available and accept it. It should bring you back to where you left off and hopefully will continue to install.

Update - spent about an hour with support on IM - the support person is saying it might be an issue with their servers being overloaded - not really buying. Here is what we did to try to resolve it. It didn't help, But I'm going to try again later

    - Phone restart - didn't help

    - Reset my network settings - didn't help

    - Its started the download process again and then hung on the verification screen.

Now the watch app is saying version 1.0.1 is up to date. This is after I downloaded 2.0 and tried to install it twice. Apple must have pulled the update until they solve the problem

Not solved! However, I will try your suggestion again. By the way battery is lousy. Never had a problem working out twice in a day between 45-60 minutes and checking pulse. Always 35% @ bedtime 12AM....using watch from 8 AM.

And the so called new watch faces are mostly rubbish.

However the worst is not having the full calorie count of resting and active. iOS9 might be to blame. There was a time when the iOS needed no manual. Now it is Nokia 1998.

It might be a server issue from Apple. I mentioned I had 16 hours then a few hours later it loaded but took over an hour to install! And it's no better. The Apps are rubbish. Why does the Apple Activity App not give a graph on pulse? Why does it not update calorie count? Why oh why are two watch faces show my ugly face? Why does anyone want to stare at themselves unless they are 16?

    Anyway good luck.

My first attempt took 2.5 hours to download then hung on 'verifying' for over 3 hours.

Rebooted my watch and iPhone 6 and everything is back to normal.

From comments here and elsewhere the update to Watch OS 2 is not worth the effort.
