It's a very vague question. What software do you want to use? Are you shooting simultaneously? Or sequentially?
Hi Terence,
I am looking into getting a Cannon Video Camera. What I want to do is use my iMac built in camera to take simultaneous shots while my cannon takes shots too. I make art workshops, and I would like to go from one camera to the other and also be able to have both in frame at one time. Like a picture in picture. The Cannon I use to show me working on a project and the iMac camera I use to take me talking and explaining. Right now I have to do this separately and then edit together. This is really not a smooth looking video I want to be able to go between each camera. I hope this narrows it down more and makes more sense. Thank you for your help.
This is not a simple - or inexpensive - thing you want to do. I don't believe that iMovie can do this, you'd need to ask on that forum, but I do believe that you require something like Final Cut for that kind of shooting.

Along with a compatible camera, you need a video mixer that offers the features most important to you. There are many from which to choose.
