QuickTime's screen recorder only produce mono audio?

I'm using a Steinberg CI2+ soundcard with ISK mic, when I recorded my audio with GarageBand It produced a stereo audio. But, if I tried the QuickTime's screen recording it only produced mono audio. Is there any setting I should change or customize?

There is surprisingly little discussion about this online. It's infuriating, because I'm trying to show a problem with stereo in a plugin. I can't record it. The context is lost due to mono. What a load of crap to not offer a stereo option.
