watch OS2 failed dictation

Just installed watchOS2 and now I cannot dictate a text message - the thing I use most frequently on the watch. I now only get a delayed messages stating that dictation has failed. On using normal Siri on watch it reports no Siri connection on watch of iPhone, but Siri is working fine on iPhone so issue definitely appears to be with the watch.

Is this a remaining bug in the software or is there a means to fix?

I was desperate because I could not get my Apple Watch dictation\Siri to work. I tried everything: reboot, hard reset, bluetooth on/off, unpairing/re-pairing with no luck over a span of weeks. I was in the process of arranging a genius appointment when my husband (who also has a watch and works just fine) reminded me that I use daily body lotion and wondered if the mic was just clogged up.

Amazing! A little tooth pick and a couple or hard blows and just like that everything is working once again. Perhaps this simple fix might be the solution for many. Hope it helps you out

Hi

When seeking to remove water or other debris from the speaker or microphone ports, Apple advises that:

- You should not insert anything into the ports.

- Your should not use compressed air or shake the watch.

Apple also advises (including within the Apple Watch User Guide > Important handling information) that your watch and skin should be kept clean and dry to prevent long-term damage to the watch. Both the watch and band should be cleaned and dried (instructions linked below) if they come into contact with liquids other than water, including lotions.
